Nut Butter Cocoa,Oat Sweets
This is a high protein and nutritious dessert or snack.
Oats 1 cup
Oat Bran 1/3 cup
Cocoa powder 2/3 cup
Stevia powder to taste
Raisins 1 cup
Nut Butter 1 full jar (18 oz)
Agave ½ cup
vanilla extract 1 tablespoon
Put oats, oat bran and cocoa (and optional stevia) in food processor. Pulse to mix.
Add raisins and process till they chop into very small pieces.
Add nut butter, agave, and vanilla extract. Process till it becomes like the texture of clay.
Add more of the “wet” ingredients if too dry, more of the “dry” ingredients if too wet or soft.
Press into a pan oiled with coconut oil (see video on this blog Hemp Protein Bars).
Tips on the ingredients:
Use “quick” oats. All oats are make the same. the quick ones are just cut into smaller pieces and that size is what makes them quick.
I use peanut butter for this. If you use peanut butter us chunky, unsalted peanut butter that list peanuts as their only ingredient. If you don’t like peanut butter substitute any unsalted nut butter you prefer.
I use a little dry stevia so that I don’t have to use so much sweetener. Add it at the same time as adding the cocoa.
Use organic ingredients if you can.
